WellSpan Health joins the community in celebrating the discharge of Lt. David Godfrey from WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital in York. Lt. Godfrey, a member of the York County Sheriff’s Department, was critically injured in the tragic police incident on September 17 that claimed the lives of three officers and injured another. His recovery journey has been marked by resilience, strength, and the unwavering support of expert care teams across WellSpan.

Following initial treatment at WellSpan York Hospital and subsequent inpatient rehabilitation at WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital, Lt. Godfrey is now returning home. His discharge marks a significant milestone in his recovery, and we are honored to have played a role in his healing.
