Andrew Cochrane

WellSpan Health has appointed Andrew Cochrane to the role of vice president for the health system as well as president of WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. In this role, Cochrane will oversee operations of the 274-bed community hospital and hospital-based services in the Chambersburg area, ensuring coordination with systemwide patient safety, quality and care management processes.

“Andy’s approach to leadership, his keen focus on patient experience and his caring demeanor reflect his deep commitment to creating a healthy culture of trust, communication and engagement,” said Niki Hinckle, senior vice president of WellSpan's west region. “As we continue to work as one to transform health care, Andy will be a great asset to the Chambersburg and greater Franklin County community.”

Cochrane joins WellSpan from The Cochrane Group where he served as president and CEO. He previously served in leadership roles at North Memorial Health and Maple Grove Hospital in Minnesota overseeing a 353-bed and 130-bed hospital, respectively. In his time there, he championed an organizational culture that was recognized as a national leader for team member engagement. Prior, he served as a senior vice president and chief executive officer for Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas, where he worked to expand the system’s centers of excellence to its Willowbrook Hospital campus. He additionally held leadership roles at the Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia.

Cochrane will join WellSpan Health on Oct. 6, replacing former system vice president and Chambersburg Hospital president John Massimilla, who retired from the role earlier this summer. He will report to Niki Hinckle, senior vice president of WellSpan’s west region.
