WellSpan Health continues to expand access to care in the Lancaster area, with the opening of new services at the Outpatient Center at CityGate. This morning, WellSpan Urology at CityGate will begin seeing patients. Additionally, WellSpan Urogynecology & Pelvic Reconstruction at CityGate will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, September 3.

The new urology and urogynecology and pelvic floor reconstruction practices are part of a state-of-the-art $23 million center that opened in January, designed to meet the growing health care needs of Lancaster County. Later this month, WellSpan will open WellSpan Breast Surgery at CityGate, joining WellSpan OB/GYN, plastic surgery, foot and ankle care and numerous other practices as well as the imaging services already offered at the center.

“The response from our patients since opening the doors of the center earlier this year has been tremendous and we’re excited to be able to expand WellSpan specialty care to provide even more access to health care for our patients in the Lancaster area,” says Jim Stuccio, WellSpan senior vice president for WellSpan’s east region. “Our care teams and their commitment to providing a personalized approach in treating their patients is the backbone of all that we do, and the reason why we are expanding to provide these additional services close to home.”

The 34,000-square-foot facility includes three operating rooms as well as a 20-bed pre/post-anesthesia care area, in addition to the medical practices.

Prior to the new practices this month, the most recent addition to the center occurred in August, when WellSpan Martin Foot and Ankle relocated to the two-story building just off Route 30 and Route 283, near The Shoppes at Belmont on the Fruitville Pike. The practices available at the center now include:

• WellSpan Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstruction at City (to begin seeing patients Sept. 3)
• WellSpan Breast Surgery at CityGate (to begin seeing patients Sept. 25)
• WellSpan Gynecological Oncology 
• WellSpan Imaging

Additionally, the nearby WellSpan ENT & Hearing Services practice in Lancaster also performs its surgeries and procedures at the center.
