As the region’s leading locally governed nonprofit health system, WellSpan Health has promoted two leaders into key systemwide roles within its finance team. Donna Fortson has been promoted to senior vice president and chief revenue officer, and Andrew Walker has been promoted to senior vice president, finance and treasury.
Fortson joined the health system in 2021 and previously served as vice president of revenue cycle. In that role, she worked closely with clinical teams and leaders on how to maximize the revenue cycle. As a senior vice president and chief revenue cycle officer, she has expanded responsibilities overseeing WellSpan’s reimbursement strategy. She also will continue to champion WellSpan’s commitment to transparent, accurate pricing for patients.
Walker also joined the health system in 2021 and most recently served as the health system’s vice president, accounting and financial reporting. His leadership in restructuring WellSpan’s treasury and financial systems has streamlined the organization’s overall cash and investment portfolio. He has also led WellSpan’s debt strategy, which has supported growth and maximized capital available for investment. In the senior vice president role, Walker will carry increased treasury responsibility, developing and implementing strategies across the financial and treasury functions of the organization.
“Both Donna and Andrew are collaborative leaders within our organization that exemplify WellSpan’s working-as-one mission to deliver the very best for our patients and the communities we serve,” said Laura Buczkowski, executive president and chief financial officer, WellSpan Health. “Their proven track records in generating process improvements and efficiencies drive the results that help WellSpan weather the significant headwinds facing the industry right now.”
Both Fortson and Walker will continue to report to Laura Buczkowski, executive vice president and chief financial officer. Their promotions are effective May 18.
