Keith Smith is Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at WellSpan Health. He is responsible for developing and implementing the overall legal strategy of WellSpan Health and the entities controlled by WellSpan Health. Keith manages the Office of General Counsel and advises senior management on legal risks and opportunities.
Keith joined WellSpan as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel in 2022. He was previously in private practice at Moore & Van Allen, PLLC in North Carolina where he was a member of the firm’s Health Care group. Prior to that, Keith was Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Atrium Health, an integrated nonprofit health system with 900 care locations in three states, where he served in various roles for 22 years.
Keith earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, and earned his bachelor’s degree in history, cum laude, from Duke University. Keith has earned several awards over the years, including recognition in 2022 from Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law.
