Description

Cognitive Processing Therapy, or CPT, may help you heal from your childhood trauma and reduce the impact it has on your daily living as an adult. CPT is an evidence-based treatment, which means research supports that this treatment helps reduce the impact of past trauma and abuse. WellSpan Philhaven offers the opportunity for you to heal with other who have had similar experiences, reducing isolation and providing a uniquely supportive peer group. Group sessions will focus on: 

  • Psychoeducation 
  • Relaxation/Mindfulness/Grounding 
  • Distress Tolerance Skills 
  • Emotion Regulation Skills 
  • Impact Statements 
  • Changing Problematic Thinking and Stuck Points 
  • Addressing the impact of trauma on Safety, Trust, Power and Control, Esteem and Intimacy 

Group participants should also have a primary diagnosis of PTSD.  Individuals struggling with the following would not be appropriate for CPT informed group: active substance use, active safety concerns, or individuals with the primary diagnosis of Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, or Personality Disorder.

Instructions

This 17-week group meets on Wednesdays at 3:00 to 4:00 pm with group leaders Wendy Wild, PsyD and Tyler Loy, PsyD. While all efforts will be made to assist you in entering a group as quickly as possible, you may need to be temporarily added to a waitlist.
