The WellSpan York Hospital PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program provides experiences to develop clinical pharmacy skills in an environment with a supportive, team-based approach to patient care to optimize and provide the best care possible.
The program provides experiences with a diverse patient population, providing rotation experiences from the prehospital setting to medication safety. The goal is to support the PGY2 Emergency Medicine resident in developing critical thinking skills, gain clinical experience, and expand knowledge to prepare the individual to practice as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.
WellSpan York Hospital is a Level 1 regional resource trauma center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI Center, ECMO Center and Geriatric ED. This high-volume center provides ample learning opportunities for residents. In addition to Emergency Medicine experiences, the PGY2 EM resident will also complete two rotations in ICUs of their choice and Medical Toxicology. Opportunities for prehospital EMS experience, Medication Safety, and additional electives will be selected by the resident to enhance their training.
