Tests and treatments for midlife care
Treatment for perimenopause/menopause is very patient specific based on symptoms and history. Your provider will take a detailed health history and discuss various treatment options so you collaboratively develop a treatment plan that works for you.
Depends on symptoms and if your primary care doctor has already ordered tests before being referred to a menopause specialists. Some common tests include iron studies, vitamin D levels, blood count, thyroid check, FSH/estradiol. Diagnostic studies may include transvaginal ultrasound, mammogram, or pap smear if not up to date.
