Cancer Rehabilitation

Your path to rediscovering life.

What is cancer rehabilitation?

Cancer rehabilitation, also known as cancer rehab, is designed to enhance your quality of life during and after cancer treatment. Our personalized rehab plans are designed to help you regain function, reduce pain and improve your overall well-being.

Who is a candidate for cancer rehabilitation?

To be eligible for cancer rehabilitation, you must be receiving treatment for cancer or recovering from cancer treatment. Your treatment plan will be customized to meet your individual needs and may include exercise, mobility training, lymphedema management, soft tissue massage, balance and walking activities, fitness education, and speech therapy. Our team of experienced professionals will work with you to develop a plan that helps you recover as quickly and completely as possible.

What to expect with cancer rehabilitation

Our team will perform an individual evaluation to determine your unique needs. Then we'll design an appropriate treatment program specifically for you.

Your cancer rehabilitation treatments may include:

  • exercise
  • mobility training
  • lymphedema (swelling) management
  • soft tissue massage
  • balance and walking activities
  • fitness education
  • speech therapy for eating, swallowing or talking

Benefits of cancer rehabilitation

Cancer rehabilitation offers you several benefits during and after your treatment. These include:

  • Reduced physical symptoms. Cancer rehabilitation can help reduce pain, fatigue, limited mobility, decreased strength, tissue tightness, scars, bowel and bladder dysfunction, difficulty swallowing, and slurred speech. This can help you return to your normal activities.
  • Increased strength and function. We'll help you return to the highest level of function and independence possible, while improving your overall quality of life.
  • Improved mental and emotional well-being. Rehab can help improve your mood, energy levels and self-confidence. This boost of positivity can help you cope with the stress of cancer and its treatment.
  • Increased independence. As you regain your independence and ability to perform everyday tasks, you'll feel more in control of your life and less reliant on others.
