This weekend (May 27 – 29), sections of the South Parking lot will be blocked off for line painting. There will be minimal or no impact to staff being able to park in the lot.
The line painting is in preparation for changes to parking areas for team members, patients, and visitors that will go into effect on Monday, June 5.
Changes to parking for team members going into effect starting Monday, June 5 include:
- A section of the top parking area in the South lot will be closed to team members for parking. This area will be used by construction team members for staging and operations until the construction of the new tower is complete. This staging area will be blocked from team member parking areas by parking barriers.
- Construction vehicles will be entering and exiting the section of the parking lot. Please use caution when driving along this entrance.
- Additionally, accessible parking spaces for team members along West Drive (across from the former South Hall and Thomas Hart buildings) will be relocated for the duration of construction.
- All team members will need to park in the South lot by accessing following West Drive (toward South George Street) to enter the back side of the lot.
- Team members will have designated parking areas on the Upper, Intermediate, and Lower parking levels.
- A parking barrier will separate team member parking areas in the Intermediate parking level from patient and visitor spaces for the Emergency Department.
- Accessible parking spaces for team members will be relocated to the Intermediate parking level along the parking barriers.
- A designated walkway will be set up on the upper walkway for team members to access the stairway safely and avoid walking in traffic lanes.
Over the coming months, several additional parking modifications will occur to accommodate construction of the new tower.
