The WellSpan Spotlight

Ribbon Cutting for New Thomas Hart and Hoodner Dental Office

Last week, WellSpan’s Thomas Hart Family Practice, Hoodner Dental, and Emergency Dental service celebrated moving into their new home with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The practices, which are currently located at York Hospital and the Loretta Claiborne Building, will move into a newly renovated location in the Queensgate Shopping Center in York.

Both practices are residency programs, committed to the excellent education of future physicians and dentists.

The relocation is part of the York Hospital expansion project and will allow for demolition of the Family Practice Building.

The move will also improve convenience and access for patients of Thomas Hart and Hoodner Dental.

York County President Commissioner Julie Wheeler and the York County Economic Alliance joined us for the ribbon cutting event. Renowned artist, lecturer, designer and muralist, Ophelia Chambliss, also took part in the celebration. Ophelia designed and created the mural above the WellSpan logo at the back of the practice. She will continue to create additional murals that will line the walls below the ceiling throughout the entrance and waiting area.

If the name sounds familiar, Ophelia also partnered with us to design a patchwork mural in the team member entrance hallway at York Hospital; and created murals for the pillars at the elevator bank and the outdoor garden area of the atrium at the hospital.

The new location is next to Rehabilitation and Laboratory services, and in the same the retail center as WellSpan Medical Equipment. The first patient appointments in the new location started this week.
