The WellSpan Spotlight

Access to Outpatient Pharmacy Changing Sept. 5

Beginning Sept. 5, patients visiting the Outpatient Pharmacy will need to enter through York Hospital’s main entrance. Staff at the visitor registration desk will assist patients with directions to get to the Pharmacy from the main entrance. The entrance from Tower Drive will remain closed for about a year as construction on the Cardiac Catheterization Lab expansion project progresses. While the Outpatient Pharmacy entrance will reopen, the circular drive on Tower Drive will be removed entirely.

Patients are being encouraged to consider transferring their prescriptions to the WellSpan Pharmacy at Apple Hill Medical Center to avoid this temporary inconvenience. The Pharmacy at Apple Hill is located less than two miles from the hospital campus.

Met-Ed to Relocate Utility Poles on Irving Road

Met-Ed will soon be performing utility work along Irving Road in support of York Hospital’s expansion project. Specifically, a short length of Met-Ed power poles will be relocated onto WellSpan properties along the east side of Irving Road to enable the start of construction and safe working conditions.

Met-Ed also recently brought to WellSpan’s attention that it will be conducting a separate infrastructure upgrade project affecting select residential properties on Irving Road. This supplemental project will enhance the safety and reliability of electric service in the neighborhood.

Affected neighbors have been advised by WellSpan and Met-Ed is contacting them directly with specific details about their upgrade project.
