Parks. Walks. Stories. What more could a kid ask for?
Nothing, said 6-year-old Jack Miller.
WellSpan helped provide funding through the KidsFirst Fund for Springettsbury Township and York County Libraries to unveil the StoryWalk at Springettsbury Township Park. A bunch of kids, including Jack, already have checked it out.
Pages from a children’s book are displayed along a path at the park, inviting families to take a stroll while reading a story. The stories will change throughout the year, providing fun learning opportunities for local community members and their families.
Jack said he liked being able to walk while reading outside. Dad, John Miller, said he liked being active while reading a book with a broad appeal and at Jack’s level.
