The WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital Behavioral Health team was recently recognized as Agency of the Year by Franklin Together, a Franklin County coalition dedicated to the support of formerly incarcerated individuals and their families.
In an awards ceremony, Emily Hutton, a social worker with the WellSpan Arches to Wellness program was also recognized as Community Member of the Year for her dedication to connecting individuals with the medical and social support needed to have a successful transition back to society.
"I am proud of the behavioral health team for its dedication to the community we serve," said John Massimilla, president of WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. "Through community partnerships like Franklin Together, we can continue to expand on our mission to build healthier communities and promote lifelong health and wellness for all."
The team was selected for the award based on its continued support of Franklin Together coalition members and their clients through accommodating collaboration with staff and expert medical care to help individuals reenter society.
"Our community is stronger when we all work together. We're deeply appreciative of WellSpan's contributions to the Franklin Together mission," said Leigh Elliott, Franklin Together Reentry Coalition Coordinator.
WellSpan's Arches to Wellness Program works to connect patients with needed resources outside of the hospital such as housing, food, transportation, and follow-up medical care.
