WellSpan president nationally recognized for second year

For the second year in a row, Roxanna Gapstur, Ph.D., R.N., WellSpan's president & CEO, has been honored by Modern Healthcare for her leadership as a healthcare executive. Announced earlier today, Gapstur was the only clinical leader from South Central Pennsylvania to make this distinguished list.

The 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives program honors healthcare professionals who are deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be paving the way to better health through their executive responsibility, leadership qualities, innovation, community service, and achievements inside and outside of their respective organizations.

"It is inspiring to be recognized for a second year in a row as we continue to accomplish so much on our value-based care journey at WellSpan," said Gapstur. "This recognition shines a bright light on the incredible effort our leaders and care teams have put forth over these challenging last couple of years. Through it all, we have endured in service to our communities and in line with our mission to be that trusted partner to all that we serve."

"Clinician leaders have shouldered a heavy load for healthcare organizations and the country at large throughout the past few years. We are proud to recognize those leaders who have risen to the occasion and then some," said Fawn Lopez, Publisher of Modern Healthcare. "These 50 honorees have demonstrated leadership and innovation in a time of crisis and made a vital impact on the success of their organizations, the well-being of the healthcare workforce and the health of their patients and communities. We congratulate and thank them for their dedication to the advancement of healthcare."
