Advanced surgical options for cancer

The WellSpan surgical oncology team understands that a cancer diagnosis and the thought of surgery can be overwhelming and is here to offer you and your family the answers and leading-edge treatment you need to move beyond the diagnosis. WellSpan offers surgical oncology services to diagnose, stage and treat cancer and certain cancer-related symptoms.

The goal of surgery is to remove the cancerous tumor, when appropriate. When the surgeon cannot completely remove the tumor, surgery can help to ease pain or remove obstructions that the tumor causes. Whether or not you would benefit from surgery depends on factors such as the type, size, location, grade and stage of the tumor, as well as your overall health, age and any other health conditions you may have.

Your surgical oncologists partner with other specialists in your care, including medical oncology and radiation oncology. At WellSpan, you can be assured that our team will take the time to get to know you and your specific needs and wishes. Our goal is to treat cancer with the most advanced technology and procedures available today, including minimally invasive surgical options.
