Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I spent the majority of my RN career in critical care, both at the bedside caring for patients as well as educating ICU nurses. I have been a nurse practitioner for over 20 years. I became a nurse practitioner in order to continue to provide direct, quality-driven care to my patients. Working together with my patients and their families as a team in order to maintain health, as well as being there to help navigate the sometimes overwhelming circumstances they may find themselves in, is very important to me.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I enjoy working with patients of all ages. I pride myself on being open, supportive and approachable. I respect all of my patients regardless of race, religion, or sexual/gender orientation.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Time out of the office is spent with my family. I also love animals. Volunteering at an animal rescue some day is a goal. I grew up in upstate New York. Traveling to the Finger Lakes region is a favorite getaway.
