Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I chose medicine as a profession because, in my opinion, there is no other profession in the world that demands so much from you in terms of learning, ethics, discipline and integrity. Additionally there is no other reward like the reward of actually saving a life. There is also no other job I know that can keep you so grounded in terms of realizing what the meaning of life really is.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am from India and have trained, taught and worked in India, Nepal, the United Kingdom and now the United States. The goals of medicine are different in each country, but the need to be informed of medical advances remains the same everywhere. As a pulmonary doctor, know that I will try to address your pulmonary issues in a comprehensive manner and not limit myself to one issue. I will discuss your issues, educate you about current knowledge regarding your condition and help you reach a decision and treatment plan that works best for you. If I cannot help you, I will find a place that can .
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I like to read, try new recipes, spend time with family, take care of family and friends here and around the world, learn about other people and other countries. I travel when I can. And, when possible, I catch up on my sleep.
