Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
My initial degree was in psychology. I worked as a crisis intervention counselor and a psychiatric social worker at York Hospital. We were located in the emergency department, and I found myself drawn to that environment. My growing interest was also piqued by caring for my ailing grandparents for many years; thus, I pursued a nursing degree. I worked as an oncology nurse for 18 years; it was a privilege to be in that position, and I loved it. I decided to become a nurse practitioner so I could expand my interactions and clinical skills with patients of all ages and various stages of health
What I want my patients to know about me:
I like to partner with my patients in their quest for optimal health and wellness. I will actively listen to your concerns and provide teaching and guidance to allow you to make smart health and lifestyle choices.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Faith, family and friends are central in my life. I enjoy being outdoors...hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking. I also love to travel. In particular, I enjoy exploring the magnificent beauty of our national parks.
