Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
As I grew up, I was influenced by my father, a compassionate and dedicated physician, who was working in the Washington D. C. area. Later on, while attending the University of Maryland, I became very interested in biology and physiology. A career in medicine allowed me to pursue both—my academic interests and the values that I garnered from my father.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I came to the Lebanon area in 1986, and the community has always made me feel welcomed. I have worked through the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital without interruption for over 30 years, and I remain committed to the people of the community and to the work of treating cancer throughout WellSpan and at the WellSpan Sechler Family Cancer Center.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I have a home In Lebanon, and when I am not at work, I enjoy bicycling, ballroom dancing, gardening, and cooking. When I can get away, I try to spend as much time as I can with my parents in Florida; my siblings in Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, and Iowa; and my adult children in Atlanta, Lancaster, and Pittsburgh.
