Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
From a young age, I always liked science and mathematics classes. During my time at the University of Pittsburgh studying economics and neuroscience, I became more interested in anatomy and medicine after volunteering at a local hospital. I enjoyed talking to patients, learning about their ailments, and seeing the positive impact made by the medical team. It seemed like a good fit for me so I pursued a medical education at Temple University. I enjoy the rewards and challenges that come with a lifelong pursuit of medical practice.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I became interested in rheumatology during a rotation in my internal medicine residency. It was gratifying diagnosing uncommon disorders and managing the complexities of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Most rheumatologic conditions are chronic and I enjoy partnering with my patients, knowing their challenges, and building long-term relationships so that we can navigate the treatment and overcome the obstacles of their disease together.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy spending time with my family. Usually that means playing outside with my two small children or going on long walks. I also enjoy cycling, backpacking, skiing, and pretty much anything outdoors.
