Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
Growing up, I knew I wanted to help people. I was always intrigued with the minor office procedures I was able to watch my family doctor perform. After graduating from high school, I attended a surgical technology program, and was able to get a job first assisting in the operating room. Although I enjoyed my work, I wanted more. I decided to go back to college earn my bachelor's degree and then go to medical school, knowing all along I wanted to become a surgeon.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I grew up in north central Pennsylvania. I graduated from Penn Tech with a certificate in surgical technology. I worked as a first assist in the operating room for four years before going back and earning my bachelor's degree at Penn State. After finishing my residency, I was employed in Williamsport, PA for three years before moving to Lancaster County.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Helping my wife with our five children. Hunting and fishing
