Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I love to interact with people, and I love science. Medicine is the perfect combination of a vocation that combines lifelong learning and daily interaction with people. It's why I do—and love—primary care. I get to be a small but integral part of my patients' lives, and I appreciate the trust that they place in me as as their physician.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My philosophy of medicine is that, in the end, it is your body. The ultimate decision of how to treat that body is up to you. My role is to discuss and recommend to you what the latest scientific evidence and thoughts are on disease prevention and/or treatment and to come to a joint decision with you about the best course of action for your health. I try to treat everyone as I'd like to have my family members treated and get to know my patients as people, so I know what's important to them.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I spend time with my two active and amazing children and my wonderful husband. You can also find me curled up with a good book, a cup of coffee or my latest yarn project.
