Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I have been lucky to travel and live many places outside of the US and am amazed at how basic health needs can affect one's life. Clean water and simple antibiotics can mean the difference between life and death. More importantly however, I have realized that knowledge and access to these needs can change not only one patient's life but an entire community. My hope is to educate my patients and arm them with the knowledge to take an active role in their recovery while supporting the community in which they thrive.
