Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I decided to pursue a career in medicine, namely high risk obstetrics, after my mother had a near fatal event due to a pregnancy complication when I was 12 years old. My life was impacted by the live-saving efforts that the emergency department and OB/GYN physicians executed to save my mother's life. I decided at young age to give back by dedicating my life to making that same impact on other's lives. I am forever grateful for the opportunity!
What I want my patients to know about me:
Although I am a wife, mother and daughter, when I come to work, my patients and my office staff are my priorities. I have a special interest in global health. One of my passions is working in resource-limited settings to decrease maternal morbidity and mortality. I also have an interest in provider education through simulation in resource limited settings.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I have a special interest in film and photography. Attending the Sundance, Cannes, Berlin, Venice and New York film festivals are on my bucket list. One of my goals is to become a body builder and personal trainer, specializing in training postpartum patients and adolescents.
