Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I believe medicine chose me. I have always had a passion and drive for taking care of people, helping them feel better, and working with others to solve problems. I am the first doctor in my family, both immediate and extended, so I did not have someone whom I emulated or wanted to be like. But I stated confidently and passionately since I was a little girl that I was going to be a doctor. While there were challenges, I know it is where I am meant to be, helping to serve others and provide guidance about health, overall wellness, and life.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I look at being a physician as a partnership. I love to know what is most important to each patient and will work hard to ensure that we are working toward the same goals. Honesty is my overall policy, so there will be some tough love, but only for the overall good of my patient. I strive to create a safe and understanding environment where everyone is comfortable and there is no fear in being yourself.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I am not seeing patients, I am either reading, sleeping, or spending time with friends and family.
York offers many places to walk and enjoy nature, so I am working on increasing my time outside, exploring.
