Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
In my early childhood, my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and I watched my grandmother care for him daily. Because of her daily nurturing and care she provided, I knew I wanted to be a nurse and more importantly an oncology nurse. After a few years of bedside nursing, I knew I wanted to expand my career as a life-long learner by becoming a Nurse Practitioner. As a Nurse Practitioner, I continue to provide advanced care and education to patients without removing the “nurse” from me!
What I want my patients to know about me:
I truly love my career and couldn’t imagine anything different! I enjoy working with patients and their family members during this very sensitive time. The focus of my visits is centered on empowering patients about their diagnosis, healthy life-style modifications, and most of all I am their biggest advocate when needed.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
My most treasured hobby is spending time with my family, as they are my biggest supporters. I love to run- particularly half-marathons, boat when it is warm and sunny, read a good book and watch Penn State football. GO STATE!
