Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
In 2005, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery with reconstruction, chemotherapy, and years of preventative medication. She never would have made it through the entire process without the care and support of her healthcare team. I had never encountered so many selfless, dedicated, and empathetic individuals in my life. I always knew that I was like those individuals; destined to help others in a time of crisis and need. I feel a sense of purpose in my life just knowing that I make positive differences in the lives of others.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I will do anything I can to support my patients health and well-being. I am a huge advocate for my patients and I will always ensure that they get the best medical care. I am often up at late hours working on things for my patients. That being said, I believe in the importance of an honest patient-provider relationship. I expect that my patients treat me and my staff with the respect that I give them. I trust that my patients value my advice and recommendations and follow them to the best of their abilities.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I wish I had more free time but that is something that I am working on. I absolutely love spending time with my cats: I am truly a "crazy cat lady." I spend as much time as I can with my family and friends on the weekends. On Thursdays, you will often find my baby-sitting my friend's children. This is probably my favorite thing to do on my day off. My husband and I are food lovers and are constantly looking for new restaurants to travel to. The channel that our TV is often set to is the Lifetime Movie Network and that is probably my secret addiction.
