Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
Even when I was little, I was fascinated and amazed with how the human body works. My mother is a nurse, and I loved looking through pictures in her anatomy and physiology books. Of course being the strong-willed child I was, I knew that I wanted to go into medicine—but I wanted to be something other then a nurse. In college I started my career path toward becoming a physical therapist, but after spending some time volunteering in a small pediatric emergency room, I quickly realized just how "cool" nurses actually were. I changed my major my sophomore year and haven't looked back since.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am a nurse practitioner, but I am also a parent. I know what it's like to be on the other side of this relationship and just how hard it is! I am honored that you are entrusting me with the care of your baby—the most important thing in the world to you!
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Spending time with my husband, son, and daughter. I also enjoy trail running and Spartan races. If I'm not at work or at home, you'll find me out in the woods or at the gym.
