Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
Becoming a surgeon has allowed me the opportunity to walk with many people through some of their most frightful, challenging, and sometimes desperate periods of their lives. Relieving their pain and fear has been one of the wonderful gifts I have been fortunate to experience in my life.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I make every effort to imagine myself in my patient's position. We are all patients from time to time, and I want patients to know that I understand the value of trust in the advice and care provided by the physician.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
My family means everything to me and I devote much of my time either directly or indirectly helping my wife, children and grandchildren. For many years I have loved the water and boating and I hope to once again return.
