Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I have always been interested and invested in learning more about health, treating disease, surgical interventions, as well as serving as an educator, not only for patients, but also for colleagues in the medical community. Becoming a sub-specialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine allows for continued involvement and investment in all of the above mentioned ideals. It furthermore permits the building of meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues while navigating pregnancy complications.
What I want my patients to know about me:
Practicing Maternal-Fetal Medicine as a Perinatologist is my professional passion. Aside from training in the management of complex maternal and fetal conditions associated with pregnancy, I have been actively involved in the research and publishing of peer reviewed journals and textbooks. I also have experience in complex surgical cases, which allows me to be an additional resource to patients and colleagues. I want my patients to know that I have the experience, dedication, and compassion to guide them through complications that may present during their pregnancy or postpartum period.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
While my job as a Perinatologist is of great importance, the job that I am the most passionate about, and the source of my greatest joy, is being a father. When I'm not seeing patients I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family. My wife and I also enjoy spending time running, wine tasting, and exploring all that central Pennsylvania has to offer.
