Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
My interest in medicine started during my childhood with multiple family members as physicians, including my father and uncles. I watched how they were able to help others, and the idea of caring for other people's health and being involved in their families is something I have always been aware of and in which I have wanted to be involved. This clearly made an impression in my siblings as well. My brother is also a physician, and my sister is a veterinarian.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am passionate about doing everything possible for my patients, the babies they are carrying, and their families to achieve the best outcomes possible. This feeling is shared by everyone in the division of maternal-fetal medicine. I feel lucky to have the job I do and honored with the trust patients place in us to be involved in the care.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
This is a great question, LOL. First, I spend as much time as I can with my wife and try to see our grown kids as often as possible. We also have three dogs, who think of themselves as surrogate children. While winter is becoming less attractive with each passing year (another way I take after my father), I love the other seasons and will do pretty much any outside activity that's available. During the winter, I enjoy dreaming about being at the beach somewhere.
