Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I am coming from the Carlisle area where I worked as a full-scope midwife for the last two and a half years alongside a group of wonderful physicians and midwives. Growing up, I always had this desire to help and care for people, which led me to nursing school. Nursing school allowed me to provide the compassion and attention to the patients that I desired, but the patients were in and out of my care so quickly it was difficult to create a relationship or bond. It was during the births of my three nieces that I realized women's health was an area I could see myself loving. And so I headed to Georgetown University after I graduated nursing school and got my Master's as a nurse-midwife. And now, there isn't a day that goes by where I am not completely in love with what I do and the patients that I meet.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My roots have always been in Waynesboro as I was born and raised here. My parents and grandparents still reside in the area. I grew up in the community and was even a candy striper at the Waynesboro Hospital during high school. I've always felt a lot of support within the community while I was growing up and it is exciting to return to the area and share my passion for women and babies.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
My hobbies include crafts, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
