Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I did my undergraduate training in genetics and biochemistry with the goal of pursuing a career in cancer research. When I got there, I found that there was a long way from the lab to the patients I was hoping to help with my research. I turned to a career in medicine so that I would be able to help people on a daily basis.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I love my job. There is no problem too big or too small, I am happy to help in any way that I can. I believe that lifestyle modification can be as effective as pharmacological intervention and that emotional health is as important as physical health.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I spend my time outside of the office with family and friends. I am a casual sports fan, meaning I don't routinely follow sports but am always up to watch a game. I like to sew, bake, read, shop and spend time on the beach or the ski slopes.
