Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
Growing up in a medical family I saw firsthand the impact that primary care could have on the lives of people in the community. Along with that I have always viewed a career in medicine as a vocation or calling. I chose Family Practice because it was the specialty that gave me the best opportunity to know and practice a broad range of medicine and hopefully to have a greater impact on my patient's health and lives. I also enjoy how medicine provides a wonderful melding of science and humanitarian service.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My number one goal is to provide an atmosphere where true problems and concerns can be voiced and addressed. I will do my best to provide personalized, focused attention to each person and his or her health concerns. To the best of my ability I will try to be aware of and care for the whole person including psychological, social, and spiritual aspects as well as physical. As a primary care physician a major focus will be prevention of disease.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy and treasure time spent with family and especially grandchildren. Church activities and Bible study. Providing care for my handicapped son. Enjoying cars and driving. Mowing, yard work, and general property upkeep.
