Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
The medical field appealed to me as it encompasses science, art and lifelong learning. I was drawn to science and discovery as a child, and this continued to grow and develop, leading me to medicine. During my medical training, I enjoy the balance of surgical procedures with preventative health visits that my specialty offers. I also enjoy the broad age range of the patients I see each day. Lastly, there is no better feeling than assisting in the birth of a new life—such a precious event each and every time.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I want to partner with patients to optimize their outcomes and health. I want to explain the diagnosis and treatment plan in a way that connects with my patient's ideas and values. Working together can lead to a trusting relationship and improved overall well-being
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a lifelong sports fan, especially basketball. My family enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, and riding ATVs, I'm also involved with Girl Scouts. My husband introduced me to the joys of bass fishing, which is a new and exciting hobby for me.
