Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
"It is when you give of yourself that you truly give." I was born and raised in a small town where generosity was the norm and not the exception, and in many ways my philosophy and principles were guided by the camaraderie and altruism I witnessed and experienced as a child. Therefore, I always knew that I wanted to be in a profession through which I could exert a positive and meaningful impact on society. Since heart disease is the number-one killer in the world, cardiac specialty was a natural choice for me because it not only allows me to serve those in need and save their lives but also to do so in the context of being myself, a compassionate, caring person who cares about their health and tries to direct them to the healthy heart path.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I want my patients to know a couple of facts that I believe in my practice:
- A good physician treats the disease only, but a great physician treats the patient who has the disease.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I live a simple life. I work out whenever I can, I enjoy cooking, reading a good book and watching a good TV series.
