Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
There was never any doubt as to what I would do with my life. I started as a Candy Striper with my grandmother who was a nurse, then went to nursing school after graduating high school. After my daughter went off to college, so did I. I returned and completed my Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees in 11 years. I chose not to become a physician, because it would have meant taking "nurse" out of my title, and being a nurse is a big part of who I am.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My family has been here in Adams County and Northern York County since 1750. My grandmother grew up in Dillsburg, and I spent many summer and winter vacations there. I have lived in Pennsylvania all my life, and never wanted to live anywhere else. I have been certified as a Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse (Paramedic), Certified Emergency Nurse and Certified Flight Registered Nurse.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Entertain my Chihuahuas and FaceTime with my granddaughter in California.
I watch the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and the Flyers. Go Birds.
