Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I did not have a plan to go into medicine when I started undergraduate school. But when I visited a gross anatomy lab at a local medical school, I found I had a strong fascination with the study of human anatomy, especially the anatomy of the upper extremity. I was encouraged to pursue the study of medicine and this lead to my training as an orthopedic surgeon.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I have a passion for caring for the people of Lebanon County. I joined Fotis Mystakas and Victor Faralli in 1988. We were Lebanon Orthopedic Associates then. Richard Slagle joined us a few years later and we have been dedicated to the orthopedic care of the people of Lebanon County. Many things have changed in healthcare since then and we are now WellSpan Orthopedics of Lebanon but we are still dedicated to providing exceptional care to the residents of Lebanon County.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I have many eclectic interests to occupy my time away from medicine but the most important thing I do is care for my wife who had a stroke in May 2012.
