Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
Growing up with a father who is a family physician exposed me to the wonders of medicine at an early age. I enjoyed hearing about his interesting cases and the challenges he faced on a regular basis. But mostly it was the wonderful relationships he developed with his patients that drew me to medicine. By 4th grade I knew wholeheartedly my calling was to become a doctor (especially after getting a D in handwriting!).
What I want my patients to know about me:
I believe the patient knows their body best and that by listening closely to them, we as a team can diagnose and solve nearly any issue. Family medicine provides a broad spectrum of care as well as patients. I feel very blessed that I am afforded the opportunity to care for a tiny newborn, an active senior, a struggling teen, a stressed-out professional, a dynamic mom, or a former soldier all in the same day.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love boating! My perfect day is one spent on the Susquehanna River taking my son and his friends tubing. I also enjoy riding my motorcycle, hiking, camping, gardening and road trip adventures.
