Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
My father worked at a Veterans Administration and retired from the Air Force. I knew that I wanted to enter a field that would assist veterans. The field of Audiology was born as a result of the thousands of service members who returned from WWII with significant noise induced hearing loss. This was my calling.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I have been employed by WellSpan Good Samaritan Audiology since 1988 and serviced with the United States Air Force, Major, as an Audiologist. Awards include: Oticon Focus on People national award for making a positive impact for those with hearing loss, and two awards by Central Penn Business Journal; 40 Under 40 Award which recognizes Central PA’s leaders based on their professional accomplishments and commitment to inspiring change, and the Healthcare Hero award - Allied Health Hero category, recognizing excellence, promoting innovation, and honoring the efforts of individuals and organizations making significant positive impacts on the quality of health care in the Midstate. I have also received the Scholar Award through the American Academy of Audiology and was a Founding member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology. I am passionate about creating an excellent experience for customers and truly care your individual hearing needs. Hearing Care is Health Care.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Currently, I am President of the Lancaster Liederkranz Folk Dace Group, Alleweil Jung where we perform from Harrisburg to Delaware. I enjoy native gardening and spending time with my husband and pets.
