Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
As a young girl I recognized the sense of fulfillment I had when caring for others as part of my family or church. That lead to a rewarding 27 year career in nursing in a variety of areas such as emergency/trauma nursing, prison nursing, missionary nursing, and hospice nursing. I chose to further my career as a nurse practitioner in order to have a greater impact on patient's lives using my knowledge, experiences, and compassion.
What I want my patients to know about me:
Not only will I provide you with the most accurate diagnosis, but I will help you understand how and why the illness occurred and how to best utilize the resources in your community for maximum health and wellness.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Now that my children are grown and I am no longer in school, I plan to develop some hobbies like playing violin, biking, and reading for leisure when I am not seeing patients. Book suggestions are welcome!
