Lactose Tolerance Testing

Testing if blood sugar levels have little or no reaction to lactose is the basis of lactose tolerance testing. After fasting the night before you will drink a liquid that contains lactose. Blood will be drawn every 30 minutes for 2 hours to determine if blood sugar levels remain the same. Your physician will advise on when lactose tolerance testing is appropriate.
