In This Section

subHeadH2 accessibility

Oral glucose tolerance testing is done to measure your body’s response to sugar (or glucose). The test is used to diagnose prediabetes, gestational diabetes and diabetes through a series of blood glucose measurements. After having fasted for 8 hours the test begins with a blood draw. You will then drink a glucose liquid, wait 2 hours and then have a second blood draw.
