Regaining Strength and Reducing Pain During and After Cancer Treatment

The objective of oncology rehabilitation is to improve your quality of life while you are undergoing treatment for or recovering from cancer. Treatment may occur at any stage of the care and/or recovery process. You will be individually evaluated to determine your specific needs. An appropriate treatment program is then designed specifically for you.

Conditions Treated

Rehabilitation programs are offered at WellSpan locations throughout central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland.

These programs include treatment for the following conditions:

Pain
Deconditioning from treatment
Fatigue
Lymphedema
Limited mobility

Decreased strength
Tissue tightness and scars
Bowel & bladder dysfunction
Difficulty swallowing or slurred speech

How We Can Help

Treatments may include:

Exercise (strengthening, range of motion, conditioning, etc.)
Mobility training
Lymphedema management
Soft tissue massage

Management of swelling
Balance and walking activities
Fitness education
Speech therapy for eating, swallowing or talking
