Athletes need to be healthy to perform at their best. At WellSpan, we offer sports physicals that do more than meet a requirement for participation: We make sure athletes are ready to play. Our providers spend time with each athlete, understanding their sport, goals for the season and any concerns or complaints they may have about their health.

Our comprehensive approach to care can also connect them to the resources they need to reach their true potential: From sports injury prevention, nutrition, physical therapy and more. We build a team around athletes to support them on the field, and off.

At WellSpan, our comprehensive sports physical includes overall health assessment and a review of athletes’ muscles, bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joints.

Ways you can receive a sports physical:

Your primary care provider offers sports physicals by appointment.
WellSpan walk-in care locations offer sports physicals with no appointment needed.
Arrange to have WellSpan Sports Medicine providers come to your team’s location and conduct physicals for athletes on-site.

It’s important to keep in mind that a sports physical does not replace an annual exam by your primary provider.
