Nurturing Body, Mind and Spirit

The Wellness Center is an extension of the patient care team and an important part of the healing process, for both patients and their families. Part of a holistic approach to care, the center cares for both the minds and bodies of patients. Services are designed to help manage symptoms while relieving some of the mental stress of illness.

Improving Quality of Life

Center for Mind/Body Health

A cornerstone of the Wellness Center, the WellSpan Center for Mind/Body Health will offer holistic care services, such as massage therapy, acupuncture, yoga, meditation and mindfulness.

Research shows that oncology massage and acupuncture can benefit the quality of life of patients during all stages of their journey, improving relaxation, sleep and immune function, while relieving anxiety, pain, fatigue and nausea.

Enhancing Health and Wellbeing

(Laurel Grove) Retail Boutique

Relieving Stress After Surgery

WellSpan Medical Equipment

WellSpan staff take time to get to know patients and their goals to help make their life easier after surgery. A breast prosthesis can help return patients to some sense of normalcy and help restore confidence. Appointments for mastectomy patients can be scheduled for fitting prosthetics and bras or compression garments for lymphedema patients.

Support Services

WellSpan Palliative & Supportive Care

This service helps prevent and ease side effects patients may be experiencing while improving the quality of life for both patients and their caregivers. Palliative & Supportive Care is appropriate at any stage during a serious illness and can be provided along with chronic or curative treatment.

Spiritual Care

Chaplains can tend to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families and friends, supporting patients of varied religions and faiths, including those with no specified religious affiliation.

Chaplains are available by request or scheduled appointment.

Cancer Rehabilitation

Oncology physicians can refer patients to physical therapy at the Wellness Center, with goals set based on patient needs, diagnosis and treatment plan. Rehabilitation may include exercise, mobility training, lymphedema management, soft tissue massage, balance training and fitness education. Treatment is focused on managing pain and fatigue.
