Comprehensive Assessment

Using the latest in clinical and diagnostic procedures, WellSpan Interventional Pain Management experts will review your previous treatment, conduct a physical examination and provide a thorough evaluation of your pain condition. Then, you and your physician will develop a complete individualized treatment plan.

Methods of Treatment

Pain can be treated with a combination of both noninvasive and invasive modalities. Treatment at WellSpan Interventional Pain Management is based on your particular pain and is modified to meet your changing needs. In addition to the more invasive interventions that are available at the York Hospital Pain Relief Center, the physicians, nurse practitioner and staff may utilize a wide range of medications, physical therapy, psychosocial counseling, patient support groups and other alternative approaches to pain management.

Thanks to the advanced technologies available at WellSpan York Hospital, implantable therapies such as spinal cord stimulators, intraspinal drug infusion and procedures which actually disable their nerves carrying the pain message, become viable-and successful-treatments for pain relief.

The following represent some of the interventions and treatments available through WellSpan Interventional Pain Management:

  • Bier blocks
  • Blood patches
  • Bursa/joint injections
  • Celiac plexus blocks
  • Cryoneurolysis
  • Discography
  • Epidural steroid injections
  • Facet injections
  • Ilioinguinal nerve blocks
  • Intercostal nerve blocks
  • Intrathecal pump management
  • Lumbar sympathetic blocks
  • Radiofrequency lesioning
  • Sequential muscle stimulators
  • Spinal cord stimulation
  • Stellate ganglion blocks
  • Trigger point injections
