The designation assures patients that WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital uses evidence-based protocols that lead to better outcomes and that the quality of care provided is effectively managed to meet the unique and specialized needs of stroke patients.
Pathway to Excellence
The American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) awarded WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital Pathway to Excellence status. Similar to ANCC's Magnet Program, Pathway to Excellence is designed for smaller hospitals and focuses on the importance of a positive professional environment for nurses and its impact on the quality of care provided to patients.

Det Norske Veritas – Germanischer Lloyd Accreditation
WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital was certified with a three-year accreditation from DNV-GL in 2018. The hospital is certified for primary stroke.
Nationally Accreditation Program for Breast Centers
The Adams Cancer Center at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) by the American College of Surgeons. During the accreditation process the Adams Cancer Center demonstrated compliance with standards which focus on center leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement.
