For a third consecutive year, WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital has earned two national awards for patient experience from Press Ganey, a leading health analytics firm.

The hospital, located on the Apple Hill Health Campus in York County, received both the 2019 Pinnacle of Excellence Award® and 2019 Guardian of Excellence Award® in patient experience.

The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes hospitals in the 95th percentile or above for patient experience over the course of one year of data. This is the fourth straight year the hospital has achieved that recognition. The Pinnacle of Excellence is awarded for maintaining high levels of excellence over the past three-year period in patient experience.

“From the moment we meet our patients and throughout their care journey, our goal is to get to know them and to be their partner and advocate for their overall health,” said Victoria Diamond, senior vice president, WellSpan Health, and president, WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital. “We believe that kind of personalized care, paired with the expertise of our physicians and care teams, truly fosters healing and recovery.”

“This honor reflects WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital’s unwavering commitment to improving the safety, quality, and experience of care,” said Patrick T. Ryan, executive chairman, Press Ganey. “Their hard work and dedication are inspiring, and we are proud to partner with them on our shared mission to reduce patient suffering.”
